Bright Moments – Senior’s Social Gathering –

Bright Moments is a monthly social gathering that brings seniors together in a welcoming and supportive environment. Designed to foster connection, friendship, and a sense of belonging, the program provides opportunities for older adults to socialize, share experiences, and access helpful community resources. Many participants live in or frequently visit the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood and have discovered the program through word of mouth. Our attendees range in age from their early 60s to early 90s and come from diverse backgrounds, creating a vibrant and inclusive community.

In addition to social connection, Bright Moments offers engaging workshops, guest speakers, and community outings. Highlights have included visits to Fire Hall 14 and the Vancouver Police Department Mounted Squad, as well as educational sessions on topics such as fire safety, fraud prevention, and wills and estates. Over time, Bright Moments has become much more than a monthly gathering, it has become a meaningful source of connection and support. Participants often describe the program as a highlight of their month, helping to reduce social isolation, strengthen community ties, and promote emotional well-being.
