ICBC is once again reminding drivers to be responsible and plan for a safe ride home as the weather heats up.
Festival outings, barbeque parties, and cool cocktails are some of the best ways to enjoy the warm summer months. Sadly, each year in B.C., 66 people die in crashes involving impaired driving, and almost half of those deaths happen during this season (ICBC, 2017).
So, whether it’s after work or play, make the smart choice and plan to get home safely. Remember, the best time to decide how to get home responsibly is before you start drinking. Police across the province will be looking for impaired drivers at CounterAttack roadchecks this summer. ICBC supports enforcement activities such as roadchecks to help make our roads safer for everyone. For more information, please click here
